Phoniatrics, the medical specialty of voice, speech, language, and adequate hearing already had an age of 66 years when four dedicated and visionary physicians decided to found the Union of European Phoniatrists (UEP) in 1971. They met in Belgrade, in the former Yugoslavia, demonstrating a willingness to overcome a great barrier, in the time of the iron curtain.

This year we are called to Belgrade again. We have the pleasure to invite you to the 50th anniversary celebration of UEP in Belgrade. On the occasion of the anniversary, we are organizing a three-day event that will provide insight into the state-of-the-art in phoniatrics. The anniversary includes three days of sessions covering all dimensions of phoniatrics: voice, including phonosurgery and laryngology, speech and language, swallowing, and pediatric audiology.

As a multidisciplinary specialty, we would like to welcome phoniatricians, laryngologists, otolaryngologists, audiologists, vocologists, speech and language pathologists, acousticians, voice teachers, vocal professionals and professional performers and anyone interested in communication disorders.
